providing guests with luxury dining facilities, ‘bamboo wing’ is used as a meeting space, clubhouse and café. approaching the structure, guests traverse stepping stones which lead beneath the U-shaped design. numerous stalks of bamboo are aligned methodically in a semicircle, with seats systematically placed according to the rhythm of the design. articulated around a quiet pool of water, the 12 meter wide construct features an external event space at its rear with ample space for various activities. a service building is positioned next to the structure containing an office, kitchen, wine cellar, VIP room, toilet and a nursing room.
the ‘dailai bamboo complex’ has been awarded 2014′s building of the year of ARCASIA award for architecture, a prestigious asian design prize.
